ECWA Evangel Hospital

It is 150-bed hospital, located in the Plateau State , Jos, in country. Hospital was originally founded in year 1959 SIM, Evangel now managed under auspices of Evangelical of West Africa. It is locally know as "Jankwano" that means Red Roof in the Hausa and was one of first buildings in area to have iron corregated roof.
 
 

Medical services of hospital include internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics. Hospital was started in year 1959 and was vision of SIM missionary. Building of out-patient clinic was built first, was dedicated in the month of February. In following years, construction started on female/male ward and operating as theater. Hospital was staffed initially primarily by the missionaries. It was a center in the West Africa for fever identifying. Plateau government took over mission hospital and schools in state, changes took place where most of missionary staff replaced by the Nigerians.

 

University of Abuja

It is teaching hospital and formerly known in country as Gwagwalada Hospital that is located in the Gwagwalada. Council is of Federal Capital Territory . About 350-bed hospital is conceived by the Federal Capital Authority as reference for the Federal Capital territory. Hospital building started in year 1981 that was commissioned by the former President Ibrahiim in years 1992 to 93 as General under the FCDA.

 

And was handed over to FCDA to the Federal Ministry of Health is as Federal Medical and Teriary institution of health in year 1993, while present structure of hospital is as University of Abuja and teaching hospital. Surgery is main part and teams of consultant surgery run some specialist clinics. Elective lists and emergencies cover 24 hour duties as well as train officers in rotation. Specialized nurses are there with Accident and emergency, Orthopedics, Plastic and Burns ENT that department. X-ray, dental laboratory and other technicians are also performing their duties at the hospital.
